The Lord has risen indeed!
Hallelujah! Easter has come and we rise each day to new life
in Christ. At the Last Supper Jesus gave his disciples a new commandment, the command to love one another as Jesus loved,
without criticism, judgment or condescension. When we find presence of mind and spirit to live each day as new people
in Jesus, we share his spirit of love for all humankind and all living things. The darkness and horror of the crucifixion
has been replaced by the joy of Easter. God gives life again and again. Every morning we rise to life with God
and with Jesus as we seek guidance through the Holy Spirit. The church has just begun the Easter season and we will study
how to live the Resurrection in the coming weeks. Pastor Gail will share what she has learned about being an Easter
person and help us to remember who we are, children of God and followers of Christ. May your life be blessed with the
peace of Christ, knowledge of God's love and the presence of the Holy Spirit. May the peace of Christ be with you.
Amen and amen.

We walk with Jesus
Palm Sunday rejoicings have moved to the chill of Holy Week and Jesus'
final days among his disciples. Teaching daily in the temple, holding the crowds spellbound with his words and his love
for all people. Could this be the Messiah? God's Chosen One? What about the Romans and the occupation?
He doesn't talk about that does he? Monday's midday service and discussion began to reveal Jesus' method.
Looking at the events of Holy Week and what Jesus was saying and doing will continue to be revealing. We bring our errors
and failings to God laying them at Jesus' feet. As He bears our shame and wrongdoing on the cross we rest in
His love for us and seek to learn how to share His love for all people in our own lives. May God's love rest upon
you this Easter and always. Amen and amen.

On Saturday, April 9th, 19 of our members and friends gathered at
the church for a work day. Cleaning took place inside and out. Flower beds were tended, the toddler's
room emptied and the carpet shampooed, the sump drain was investigated for clogs and furnishings were rearranged in the office
and choir room. The grounds were raked and snow plow damage repaired. Pictures of the activities were made available
by Nancy McGuire following Sunday worship. The tree roots pulled out from the sump drain was impressive. We give
thanks to God for for the beautiful day to work in and for the energy and devotion of those who came to help.
We wish God's blessing for all as we approach Palm Sunday and Easter.

The spring rains have begun. There is news of flooding in many
areas of the country. There are many issues of concern following the disaster in Japan. War and unrest seem to
fill the world at times. Hunger, disease, strife of many kinds overwhelm our hearts and minds. Let us gather our
prayers together for health, peace and wholeness. Let us begin within ourselves meeting Jesus in our hearts and accepting
the love He came to give to all people. I confess that it seems far away from me today, but in the evening
when I hear the spring peepers, I know God is there and He cares for me and all the world. May we learn to obey Jesus'
comandment to "Love one another". God bless you in all your struggles. Amen

I give thanks to God for the beautiful sun with the mix of puffy
clouds and the music of bird song. Today the wind is blowing and freshens the air. Tomorrow is the fourth Sunday
of Lent and we will come bringing hearts full of praise and thanksgiving for winter's end and new beginnings.
We have new tables for the Fellowship Hall and all are invited to come for worship and stay for fellowship, enjoying God's
gifts of friendships old and new. During this especially prayerful season our prayers go out to all the world for peace
and reconciliation, for healing and wholeness, for patience and love. May God's blessing rest upon you. Amen
