Yoga is a bringing together or yoking of the body, mind, and spirit. The evening gentle yoga classes are based on Iyengar teachings. Classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes in length and include guided breathing, stretching, postures, and relaxation. The poses are accessible to everyone! Props are used, modifications and adjustments are made as needed. We have a lot of fun while stretching and toning our bodies.
Classes are on Monday evenings at 5:30 and 7:00 and are held in the classroom at the end of the hall. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the in-person classes are limited to 5 students and students must be vaccinated. The 7:00 class is also on Zoom.
Melanie McDonald is teaching Thursday evening, 5:45–7:00pm.
Chair yoga is designed for those who find it difficult to sit on the floor. All poses will be done either sitting in a chair or standing. The chair is also used as a prop to help with balancing poses. Classes include guided breathing, stretching, postures and relaxation. We have a lot of fun while improving our balance, flexibility, and muscle strength.
Classes are on Monday mornings at 9 and 10:15 and are held in the fellowship hall. The chairs are spaced 6 to 8 feet apart to comply with Covid-19 social distancing recommendations. The 10:15 class is also on Zoom.
